JPL - JOGA FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT

Joga Football Development 2026/2027 Season

Joga Football Development has received provisional approval from the Junior Premier League to join the league from the start of the 2026/2027 season.

Club Base and Training Location

The club will be based in and represent the Easingwold area. Weekly training sessions and competitive fixtures will take place in Easingwold, except when matches are held at a central venue.

Teams for the First Season

In its first season in the JPL, Joga Football Development will field teams across the U9 to U13 age groups.

Facilities

  • Home fixtures will be played at Easingwold Town Football Club.

  • Weekly training will take place on the 4G pitch at Outwood Academy.

  • Additional conditioning sessions will be confirmed in due course.

Joga Youth Programme

Joga aims to provide a youth football programme for JPL players aged 8 to 18.

The programme is open to players who wish to compete in the JPL, subject to successful trials.

Programme Development

Joga plans to offer football for age groups from Under 9 to Under 18 within five years of the programme’s launch in 2026.

Foundation Phase (Under 7s to Under 11s)

This phase focuses on player development rather than results. Players are encouraged to work towards individual aims and objectives during fixtures, based on their greatest areas for improvement.

Ball mastery is a key part of a young player’s development. Being confident and comfortable in possession is essential, so the programme places strong emphasis on the fundamentals of football, including:

· ball control and close control skills

· technical development under pressure

· performing in opposed situations

Youth Development Phase (Under 12s to Under 16s)

From Under 12 onwards, the focus remains on skill development, but players also begin to develop a deeper understanding of teamwork and the game itself. This includes taking responsibility, improving game awareness, and, at older ages, making informed in-game decisions and developing tactical understanding.

Players will continue to work towards individual development objectives. At this stage, those objectives are more likely to be tactical and structural, rather than the mainly technical and skill-based goals set during the Foundation Phase
